Sin City Question *spoiler alert*

Hi everyone, I do revisit these forums (like I said I would), and I'm sure at some point I'll be back playing City of Heroes, leveling Pyromaniac up again. I do miss him so! WoW has me completely enveloped for now, however, but I'm sure I'll be back.

Anyway, you all are my comic brain trust, and I'm sure at least a few of you are intimately familiar with Frank Miller's work, so I'm hoping something can be sorted out for me.

I recently saw the movie, Sin City, and I really enjoyed it. As I was walking out, however, something occured to me. I have no idea where Kevin fits into the plot of the movie. Was he a part of the Senator's Son's (can't quite remember his name, Roark?) sinister child-molesting schemes, or was he his own entity? I need to see the movie again, I still can't quite fit him into the whole scheme.

If anyone could shed some light on the subject, I'd be most thankful!

The Hard Kill

OK. I'm pretty sure all this info is right, but someone is welcome to
correct me. I just read the original Sin City book (I think it is
titled The Hard Kill now) about a week before the movie came out.

The Roark in the movie is a Cardinal. The Roark that is a senator is
his brother. That Yellow Bastard being the senator's son.

I believe Kevin was an orphan. How he gets mixed up with Roark, they
don't really say. Roark only states that he has helped raise him.
Kevin isn't a mute, but never says anything except to Roark. Roark,
for some reason believes that Kevin is touched by God and speaks with
his voice. This connection with God only manifested itself fully after
Kevin ate someone. Lord knows how that came about the first time.

Roark seems a bit crazy, and the papacy is corrupt as all-get-out in
Sin City. Roark tries to achieve the same "connection" with God by
eating women, too.

Strangely enough, Kevin is the most important character in the story.
He is the catalyst and/or focus for Roark's psychosis which causes the
whole tale to be set in motion.
