New CoH Comic... (spoilers and such)

Okay... well... where to start...

Y'see, this is not a bad comic book, but I'm not really sure what it has to do with the game other than it happening to use (thus far) 5 of the Surviving Eight as core characters.

Things that bug me:

The date in the beginning. 6/6/05. I would have been happier without a date, but there it is. Now for six weeks starting on that date are we going to be without superpowers when we log in? Log in somewhere other than Paragon City?

Its just too overly meta-game in that respect. That time period is too long, and its a time period that if it actually happened in the same Paragon City that we all play in we'd either have (a) dead characters, or (b) depowered characters, or (c) not be playing in Paragon City for six weeks starting in about two weeks time.

So all I can really look at this comic right now and say that its a well written story compared to the last tripe of a CoH comic, but that it really has even less to do with the actual game than the last comic did. Which is sad, because it should have turned in the other direction.

I do wonder why there aren't some Tech, Science, or Natural heroes still roaming around. Its not like they put a dampner on Technology or Martial Arts training for example (Cars still working, Arrows still working, Base Power still working enough to power giant holographic messages). Not to mention Positron was still an Anti-Matter freak, so his powers didn't really go away now did they.

Also, the gag with Sister Psyche and Aurora going at it funny, but misplaced. Now if that were Aurora that Manticore fetched it'd make sense, but it makes no sense the way they present it. Sister Psyche is a Mind Rider, she rode into Aurora's head not the other way around, and now she's back in her own head - I can't fathom how anything of Aurora went there with her.

I though Synapse was most dead to rights origin-wise based on what we already knew of him.
