Okay I saw this in the store
Okay I saw this in the store and grabbed it and read it. Its somewhat interesting, and it involves characters I like, which makes it a bit interesting. I wholly expect it will lead to visiting the grave of the metamorphic Supergirl from few years back at some point.

Here's an interesting little site that I stumbled across that talks in depth about the current chaos at DC and the pending Infinite Crisis. You can check it out for yourselves here:

Interesting. In the
Interesting. In the cartoon, Supergirl is not actually from Krypton, but another planet in the same solar system. And her powers are not 100% the same as Superman's, but they're close. And Kryptonite doesn't work quite the same with her.

Frosty, I am not reading
Frosty,
I am not reading much else right now. I try to pick up the books when they are put into the compendiaiums (sp?). I do try to read Green Arrow, and with the stuff going on in Wonder Woman, I should start reading it too. And Troy.
My buddy is keeping me up to date on the lead in to Crisis.
The clues we have so far about Supergirl are strange.
1: She may be stronger than Superman
2: She is faster than Superman
3: She can "sense" things (From Supergirl #0/Batman Superman #19)
4: Synthetic Kryptonite doesn't affect her
5: Her memories are blury from the rocket launch about Krypton
I don't think they will do the clone thing though. I mean, Superboy is a clone. Let's not make her one too...

American Dreams - Martial Arts / Invuln Scrapper
Daimon Dog - Fire / Fire Tanker
Shrike - Energy / Energy Blaster
It's possible that they
It's possible that they could go that route and steal from the cartoon, but I have a feeling they're going to go in a different direction, not that I have any idea what that direction would be. The only reason I think they wouldn't do that is I think the current continutity with her consists of her having been around for quite awhile...prior to Kara arriving on Earth, which would seem to make it very hard to clone her.
Of course, they can do whatever the hell they want to and make her the result of some seamonkey spillage and the computer from Weird Science, so what do I know???

Bah! The whole Power Girl
Bah! The whole Power Girl thing is all too convoluted! They just need to reboot the WHOLE universe this time like they should have done after the first Crisis.
And as for Supergirl, I'll give her a chance, but it would be nice if there were a formal passing of the torch from the original post-Crisis (Earth Angel) Supergirl to Kara. It just seems like everyone's treating it like Kara is the first Supergirl they've ever seen, although they kind of did the same thing with the whole *shudder* Cir-El thing, too....

Hmmm...
I wonder if they'll steal a page from the cartoon regarding Power Girl. She got a major rework in the series. They don't even call her Power Girl. She's Gaeatea, and she's a clone of Supergirl made by Project Cadmus and aged to adulthood so she'd be more powerful than Supergirl.

It's more than a rumor that
It's more than a rumor that something is going to happen to Power Girl. DC just started a new title called JSA: Classified to spotlight individual JSA characters as well as some past adventures of the team.
The first arc in the series is a 4 issue (I think) arc that's delving into PG's true origin and her powers. Supposedly this will clear all the murky background of her character and give her a clear base to move forward into the future.
I think that DC is really aiming at re-organizing their mid-level power structure (by that I mean those heroes above B-List and below the big 3) and trying to make their titles open to all readers with a fresh and NEW starting point for many of the franchises that they have reworked in the last few years as a way to contend with the appealing nature of their main rival; ie.. they are trying to out "Marvel" Marvel. At least to a degree, I wouldn't say that was their chief object anyways.
BTW Shrike.........what else are you currently reading?

Rumor is that something is going to happen to Power Girl. Not sure what, but it has to do with the whole Crisis thing.
Yea, I like what is happening to Wonder Woman.
Did you notice Supergirl's boots?
I really like the way they are working the whole yonger heroes in. A lot of power running around in the under 30 bracket...

Yeah, I picked it up
Yeah, I picked it up yesterday. It's pretty much been hot since she was reintroduced in Batman/Superman. I find it interesting how she is not really very close to Superman himself, but instead looks more towards Wonder Woman for advice. Then again, WW is always under appreciated in my opinion and DC is just now finally giving her the treatment she deserves.
Back to this issue, I am kinda curious to see exactly why the issue ended with Superboy so aggressively at odds with her. This looks like it could be a great series. My only concern is that Jeph Loeb has left DC and moved over to Marvel, so it all really depends on who takes over for him.
