Firefly...
Okay... having missed this the first time it was on TV, I've been watching it durign the repeats leading up to the movie. And I've been enjoying it. Though I can see why it got cancelled - its a bit too cerebral for most folk. Its classic western meets space so its a lot of fun in that respect.
But now this past Friday's episode (just watching it now on TiVo), omg... funniest episode to date. "The Hero of Canton, the man they call Jayne..." Setting Jayne up to be the classic hero Shane was a fantastic idea. And the episode was just amazingly hysterical as a result.
Hard to think that there's only 1 more episode before the movie, and I can see why people who followed it were quite upset. The series was literally just picking up when it got cancelled.

Speaking of the Preacher.
Speaking of the Preacher. One of the best lines in the entire series so far, and also coming from Jaynestown, was River saying:
"No, his hair is too heavy his head will break off!"
And in general the whole hair thing. That is still my favorite episode thus far.

He was visiting a local Abbey.He returns in the next episode. BTW, if you want to see a marathon of episodes, they start today at 12 noon and run til 10 tonight. However, after checking the scedule I see that it basically shows all the episodes up to Ariel and not the final 4 episodes which I find odd.
However, I checked this Friday's episode schedule and it is one of my fav "Warstories". And just like in three other spisodes (one of which you havnt seen yet) a hint is handed out about the Preacher's past.

And speaking of the Preacher, I have a theory about him that may be confirmed or denied in the movie when aspects of his past prior to entering the religious order is revealed.

She already started reading him right? That's what all the Christmas stuff and not looking in the closet was about. His reaction and the way he was telling her to shut up seemed to indicate that.

Thats not the final episode. I'll do a little spoiling and tell ya the name of the final episode: Objects in Space. There are five more episodes after Ariel which is that episode that ya just saw.
BTW, did ya noticed that Mal grabbed a huge wrench rather than pistol whip him to knock him out? Ariel is the spisode that was suppose to be Jayne's first step away from being a self centered jerk and Im now curious what direction Minear and Whedon was going to take his backstory after River does her "reading" on him which is what causes him to change his mind about turning them in.

Well okay, I think I saw what was the final episode today. As they kept advertising that on Tuesday they're doing a Firefly marathon on SciFi.
All I can say is stupid Jayne.

Nah its on weekly, I've got a good enough feel for it now to see the movie for sure. So Saffron is in another episode. Interesting, I wasn't expecting to see Mrs. Reynolds again.
