I6 To Training Room as early as 10/19/05

OK ....

Finally got around to checking I6 out. Ive got to say they may have finally achieved thier original intent. After what I just checked out on the test server I have to say my interest in playing a Tanker has been lowered.

The standard Ive always used is taking on one of the DE monsters. So as soon as I logged in, I headed for DE Island to test it out. Ive always known Fire Tankers were too overpowered. Especially pre-I5. Maq could take on three DEs with no appretiable damage. One hit would only do 66 damage.

OK, I6 arrives and with CoV Beta over, I finally have a chance to check it out and find out what all the fuss is about. Now, depending on the attack, Maq takes between 206-277 pts of damage. Just a little over 10% of his total. The kicker is this: Healing Flames. When I would pop HF for Maq it would recover 33% of his total HP. Now, it does barely 25% and thats with only 3 Health enhancers. And this is from only one DE. A Tanker should be able to stand toe to toe with one monster not a group as Maq had done earlier. Now, with I6, Maq can barely keep pace with the damage rate of one Monster. If the damage rate was 7%,that would seem reasonable. The Tanker would take some serious damage and the situation would be dangerous, but the Tanker has options to mitigate the damage.

As a result of this change, I may retire Maq until either needed for an extreme situation or the Incarnate AT is finally released. And I still have some dubious feelings about Hero/Villian PvP. I would feel better about it if the last week of Cov Beta they had allowed players to make Hero characters and PvP against the Villians. I spent sometime playing a Hero and leveling a Hero in the hope they, Cryptic, would do that. But alas, they did not which I find odd. I hope they arent waiting until I7 to do that.
