Did you know that the name of the town that the movie portrays is named "Astoria"? Just noticed it this afternoon.
Wonder if that is a coincidence with CoH or is an homage to the Goonies?

I honestly doubt it, but of course I am not a dev, so what do I know. There doesn't seem to be much resemblence to the real Astoria.
As an additional interesting note about Astoria is that it has been home to many recent movies besides The Goonies, such as Kindergarten Cop, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III, Short Circuit, Free Willy, and the all time classic Benji the Hunted!!
And an interesting note about that first fort.......
It was located not far from the very first US campsite in that area by Lewis and Clark in the winter of 1805-1806. That same forst was then later taken over by the British in 1813 during the War of 1812 and then reclaimed by the US in 1818.
Just a few fun facts for those who aren't scared of history!!!
