Now that the EQ2 NDA has been lifted . . .

I can say that I much prefer EQ 2 to WoW. Funny thing is, if you were to run both of them side-by-side on a generic graphics engine, you'd be hard pressed to tell which is which. The low-end game is much better fleshed out in EQ2: I'm level 10 and still haven't left Qeynos, I have my own room that I can decorate, the combat system is more fun, the quest system is a bit more robust, other reasons, too.

But really, as most of you know, superheroes is a much heavier scale tip for me then fantasy.

Heh. I was just the opposite.
Heh. I was just the opposite. I found myself sucked right back into EQ2, losing hours playing, always wanting to do "just one more thing". With WoW, I'd play for an hour or so and have no qualms at all just logging off.
I think it all came down to expectations: I pretty much expected EQ2 to be pretty much the same as EQ. I was expecting a lot more from WoW and what I got was, well, EQ2.
*yawn*
Funny... For me, EQ2 is a big bore! I spent maybe 3 years off and on playing EQ1 (before COH came along), so I was really looking forward to EQ2 to see if it could capture that magic again for me!
Nope!
To me, it's very nice to look at, but it lacks a lot of personality and fun. The questing system is tedious, much like it was in EQ1, except now the characters talk to you. The fighting is still basically "Turn it on and watch the fight" with a few flourishes here and there. Maybe I've just outgrown that particular style of MMORPG since COH. Who knows?
To me, the WOW stress test engrossed me more than EQ2 has. Maybe it's the style of the game, or the ease in which I can get missions and find things to do. If I do decide to cough up the cash for a second MMORPG, it'll be WOW at this point.....
But at the end of the day, COH still has my attention more than any other MMORPG out there! So don't worry.... Her Funkiness isn't going anywhere anytime soon!
